James Purnell brings the transparency of a former MP and Cabinet Minister to his latest hospitality register at the BBC. In lesser mortals, it might be deemed a tad ostentatious, but it's clearly important to know he's dined with "chief strategists" from McKinsey, at Spencer House, Mayfair; with Google executive Vint Cerf and Jimmy Wales at the Riding House Cafe, Great Titchfield Street; then again with Jimmy Wales alone at The Corner Room, The Delaunay, 55 Aldwych,
WC2B 4BB; at a private dinner with Paul Zwillenberg of the Boston Consulting Group and William Rucker of Lazards; and not least with Ed Richards of Ofcom at L'Escargot.
Jim and Ed must have reminisced over the glory days of the mid-90s when they were writing out the future of the BBC in Henry Wood House; maybe they were mapping out the next twenty years on napkins.

ReplyDeleteWell, Jim and Ed never ever got anywhere near *my* house because the dogs were let loose at the least bit sign of such ne'er-do-wells and vagabonds!
