Ecce homo

We're worried about Jimmy, sorry, James Purnell. On Christmas Eve, a time for wrapping, the pub, and midnight mass, the BBC's Directory of Digital and Strategy plaintively tweeted his 13,000 followers thus...

We presume he means every teenager's favourite philosopher, Freidrich Nietzsche, the man who declared "God is dead", rather than some Bundesliga 2 prospect sought by Arsene Wenger in the January transfer window.

Clearly BBC festive programming - Christmas Eve Eastenders on 1, Morecambe & Wise highlights on 2 - was insufficient to distract Jim from a search for greater understanding; but is the quest for knowledge driven by an inner struggle - or does, perhaps, Nietzsche offer ideas that might help with BBC Charter renewal ?
